Good morning,New York's highest court has unanimously upheld the murder conviction of a Steuben County man behind a deadly insurance-fraud arson. The State Court of Appeals rejected a push for a new trial for Joseph A. Meyers, ruling that a lower court properly handled his missing trial transcripts. Meyers is serving twenty-three years to life for the twenty-sixteen murder and arson that killed David O'Dell in Wayland.Meanwhile, a Hornell couple is warning neighbors to lock up their supplies after a massive black bear was caught on camera. Fairview Avenue resident Mike Chace says he found himself just three feet away from a three-hundred-pound bear outside his home. Ring camera footage captured the animal stealing a five-gallon bucket of birdseed. State environmental officials are urging residents to take down all bird feeders immediately.And downtown Hornell is getting ready to bloom this weekend.
